The term set-top box will become something of a misnomer in the near , as most will become too thin to allow a box to placed on top of them. As the price of & LCD has plummeted and their image quality has improved, they are popping up in homes everywhere.

Although they are the darlings of the media and the generic for flat panel display in the minds of many, plasmas are about to be in a serious fight with other technologies for the flat panel crown.

Most people have heard of the LCD TV technology. It is a craze that is sweeping the world and is considered by some to be the only way to watch television or play video games. Those older, bulkier models just will not cut it anymore.

This is a time of technology and of people demanding better quality in their viewing. If you have not had a chance to check out one of these flat televisions, then you are doing yourself a huge disservice.

With so many new innovations in televisions today, it’s hard to keep up with all of the popular technologies. Each of these technologies have advantages and disadvantages. It can be confusing as to what these technologies mean and if you really want or need what they have to offer. There are many people who have a wonderful understanding of all of this, but to the vast majority of us this is almost like mastering a new language. Many of us remember how easy it once was to buy a television. In the past, all you needed to consider was the size of the and if you could afford it. Technology has its advantages because the picture and sound quality have advanced dramatically in recent years and continues to advance, along with the addition of numerous new features. This article is the result of quite a bit of research. In this article, I have attempted to put in the most basic terms what these technologies are and how they differ from each other. It is my hope that with this information you will be able to make a better decision about which TV is best for you.

In increasing numbers, consumers shopping for a new television have the question of whether they choose an LCD or as their primary concern. Certainly, both and LCD technologies offer excellent high definition viewing with respectable viewing angles and good color saturation and brightness. While has the advantage in low light situations, LCD excel in rooms with brighter ambient light due to better protection against glare.
